In the first half of 2020, Germany has so far generated around 42% of its total electricity feed-in from wind and solar power plants.<\/strong><\/h6>\n

The chart shows that the Federal Republic of Germany is thus a global leader, eclipsing even Australia, China and the USA.<\/p>\n

According to climate think tank Ember, wind and solar energy will account for around ten percent of global electricity generation in 2020. A big step forward compared to the low share of just five percent five years earlier. Since 2015, renewable energies have been able to wrest a market share of five percent from coal, which will be 33 percent worldwide in 2020. Fossil fuels are gradually being replaced by renewables in most countries around the world; however, this is happening faster in some countries, such as Germany, than in others. <\/p>\n
