Energy generation on building facades

Although photovoltaic systems on building façades deliver on average 20 to 30 percent less yield than classic pitched roof systems, they offer advantages that make installation attractive: On buildings whose roof surfaces are too small, unsuitable or not load-bearing, PV façade systems are a sensible alternative for generating sustainable solar power and using it yourself. In addition, a photovoltaic system on the building façade enhances the aesthetic appearance.

A PV system on the façade protects against moisture, wind and sun and improves the building’s insulation by thermally insulating the wall. Snow, leaves and rainwater do not accumulate on the modules, minimizing the need for cleaning. Vertical installation is also a decisive advantage in winter. Then the sun shines vertically on the modules and the photovoltaic system on the façade generates even more electricity than the roof system. It therefore produces energy reliably all year round.

URANOS: The flexible system for façade applications

With URANOS, the hole pattern for the respective connection is adapted to the façade substrate. An integrated cable duct enables flexible and clean cable routing. The modules are mounted on the secure module support surface using the standardized TRITON middle clamps from T.Werk.

The URANOS short rails create a chimney effect that allows the warm air to escape upwards. This creates rear ventilation of the photovoltaic system and increases the performance of the modules. CHRONOS clamping profiles close the gaps between the modules both horizontally and vertically, thus ensuring a homogeneous and aesthetic façade surface.
