On pitched and flat roofs, as well as in open fields, photovoltaics can be installed easily and cost-effectively with standard PV mounting systems. Planning and installation are routine, and projects can be implemented quickly and cost-efficiently. But what if an area is to be equipped with photovoltaics for which none of the proven PV substructures are suitable?
Enabling photovoltaics where standard solutions reach their limits
This is where special solutions come into play. By adapting standard PV mounting systems, using a special construction, or combining both, photovoltaics can also be installed in locations that initially appear unsuitable. Suspended canopies, special roof structures, unusual roof shapes, facades, or areas with particular static or architectural requirements are examples from the building sector. However, a special solution can also be interesting in open areas, for example, on landfills, water protection areas, or contaminated soils.
Professional implementation through close cooperation
Crucial for the technically reliable and economical implementation of a special project is close cooperation between the end customer, solar installer, and project planners. The process begins with providing all relevant information necessary to evaluate the project. Site data, information on building statics, plans, information on fire and lightning protection, as well as special requirements for installation, aesthetics, and area utilization are needed to make an initial assessment of feasibility. This involves checking how existing PV mounting systems can be adapted or supplemented by project-specific special constructions. If implementation is possible from a technical and economic perspective, T.Werk’s experienced project planners begin with the planning.
T.Werk: Expert for PV Special Solutions
T.Werk brings many years of experience in implementing individual PV special solutions. A significant advantage lies in the flexibility of the existing PV mounting systems. They form a proven technical basis that can be adapted to special conditions depending on the project. This is complemented by experienced designers and project planners who not only technically develop special constructions but also plan them with regard to installation, statics, and economic efficiency.
Example: Special construction for suspended canopy with round tubes
An example of a successfully implemented special construction is the attachment of a photovoltaic system to a suspended canopy. Here, a pipe clamp was manufactured and adapted to the round tube diameter for the canopy suspension. With an adapter plate and an angle, our Olymp profile could be attached, which bridges very large spans of up to six meters. The module installation allows for a cross-connection with the proven ZELOS PV mounting system.
